Lunch with the Skeets - Derek rides the P-O-S.

Derek and Christine attended the First Alliance - Church BBQ with us on Sunday afternoon.

After the BBQ, Derek came over to see the Coker Monster Cruiser, alias P-O-S.

I am having trouble getting the seat to stay, in place.  Perhaps the beer can solution will work.

New Bike - Coker Monster Cruiser

Monster_vs_ironhorse

Due to my back injury I can not lean forward when I ride a bike.
So I wanted to try riding a cruiser bike or maybe a recumbent.
The prices here in Calgary were a little too high for either style of bike.
So I thought I'd look for one while I was on a tour of Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.

While I was in Vegas I found this bike on craigslist, bought it and a rack and brought it home.

It is a Coker Monster Cruiser (alias the P-O-S), it was new in 2002 or 2003.
The bike has 36 inch wheels and coaster brakes.
When it was new the bike was a deluxe model, but the age is showing.
A leather pouch that was under the cross bar is gone, as are the lights and the chrome needs to be re-dipped.
The leather strings are still on the handle bars.
It sat outside for the last six years.  The owner bought it to ride around Burning Man.

My family thinks I was suffering from a brain injury or chemical impairment when I bought P-O-S.

The mountain bike in front of it has 26 inch wheels and is considered a big mountain bike.
With shoes and the hat on I stand about 6 feet 2 inches tall.

The bikes are lined up with the back wheel hubs aligned.

ps.  The hat is a fitted, retro California Golden Seals hat that I bought for $5 at the Lidz outlet in Las Vegas.

The recent rainy season in Southern Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan has caused flooding.
